Lidl’s newly launched suede boots will be incredibly familiar to countless Gen Z and Millenial fashionistas as a budget alternative to the iconic Ugg boot. The sheepskin boots grew to fame in the early 2000s and has been a household staple across the globe ever since.
While they faded from the spotlight for a moment over the last few years, the Uggs trend is facing a resurgence this winter thanks to increased social media presence. Especially with the likes of TikTok seemingly ensuring it will be a quick favourite under the tree this festive season.
Genuine Ugg products are still fetching a hefty price tag, with some of the top-range fashion items from the California-based brand going for $280 (£154) while their specialist snow shoes are at an eye-watering $500 (£385). However, Lidl’s budget alternative has arrived just in time for winter and the festive season, in a range of colours too.
Offering a similar version of the classic mid-calf suede boot with a fluffy lining, Lidl’s Esmara Ladies Boots alternative is now on shelves for £8.99, compared to the £145 Uggs original. Lidl has also added their classic felt clogs alongside the new boots.
The “fashionable mini’s” have been growing in popularity on social media and the Livergy clogs are now available for £6.99 in Lidl’s Middle Aisle. Eager shoppers are warned these returning favourites are likely to be scooped up quickly. Both new launches are only available while stocks last.
