The Phoenix has risen again.

After saying it was closing its doors in January 2025 after being in business for over 33 years to make way for condos, beloved Toronto music venue The Phoenix Concert Theatre has entered into a new agreement to continue operating at its Sherbourne location into 2026 until it finds a new location.

“We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity to continue operations here at 410 Sherbourne Street,” Lisa Zbitnew, co-owner and operator of The Phoenix Concert Theatre, said in a statement.

“It gives us the time and flexibility to move forward in the best way possible.”

The Phoenix has hosted everyone from the Rolling Stones to Bob Dylan, and in recent months there has been an outpouring of support from patrons.
