Carol Vorderman, the 63-year-old television presenter and former Countdown star, has recently shared her thoughts on mortality.

In an interview with the Big Issue, Vorderman predicted she would live to 85, giving her “another 21 years and a few months”.

The Pride of Britain Awards host expressed a positive outlook on death, stating she’s “not remotely worried about dying” as she’s had a “good life”.

Vorderman also revealed her preference for cremation, citing claustrophobia and stories of people scratching coffins as reasons. With a touch of humour, she quipped: “Put me in that fire baby.”

Carol recently experienced a health scare that led her to quit her Sunday radio show on LBC.

The TV star revealed she had suffered “burnout” after working seven-day weeks “for as long as I can remember”.

She ended up spending a night in hospital due to a “tight feeling” in her chest and extreme exhaustion.

Following advice from family and friends, Vorderman decided to cut back her work schedule to weekdays only.

She assured fans that after “many scans and checks”, no underlying health issues were found.

Speaking at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, Carol said she’s “quite fine” but acknowledged she needs to slow down.
