Fast-food chain Shake Shack is expanding its reach in Toronto — with a boozy element.

The American-based burger joint announced on Thursday that two more locations will arrive in Toronto in the coming months, following its Canadian debut this past summer.

Shake Shack opened in Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square in June and the city’s flagship restaurant was to be one of 35 other Shake Shack locations opening in Canada by 2035.

The company confirmed in a news release that the two new locations will be featured in Union Station and Yorkdale mall.

The Union Station location will be one of few locations globally to feature a full bar and cocktails.

“Toronto has been incredibly welcoming, and we’re excited to further our presence in the city with these two fantastic locations,” said Billy Richmond, business director of Shake Shack Canada, in a news release. “Both Union Station and Yorkdale Shopping Centre offer unique opportunities to engage with our guests in new ways, and we look forward to becoming a part of these lively hubs.”

The company was founded by Danny Meyer in 2004 with its first location at Madison Square Park in New York City. It was originally intended as a small hot dog cart but gained a bigger following and became a permanent fixture in the park.

Hamburgers, crinkle-cut fries and, of course, milkshakes are among the offerings on the menu, which also includes several Canadian-themed items.
