What is Black Friday?
Black Friday is an annual shopping event that marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping season, offering significant discounts on a wide range of products.
It originated in the US as it falls on the day after Thanksgiving, but has also become one of the biggest and busiest shopping days in the UK calendar since launching on this side of the pond in 2010, with no sign of it slowing down as more and more retailers continue to take part.
This year, Black Friday will fall on Friday, 29 November, and many companies will keep up their discounts over that weekend, into what has become known as Cyber Monday.
