An OnlyFans model has narrowly avoided jail for blackmailing a married man. Bethan Guy asked for hundreds of pounds from a customer who subscribed to receive her adult content – threatening to tell his wife if he failed to pay up.

Swindon Crown Court previously heard that the victim paid out £450 after the 29-year-old made her demands but when he was told to hand over even more, he contacted the police. He was left in significant distress, concerned he would lose his family as a result.

In court, an anonymity order was made to prevent the publication of the victim’s identity. Guy, of Swindon, Wiltshire, was arrested and later charged with blackmail. She pleaded guilty to the crime in December 2023, which can carry a prison sentence of up to 14 years.

At Swindon Crown Court in February, Judge Jason Taylor deferred Guy’s sentencing until August. The conditions of the six-month deferral included that she does not commit further offences and retain her employment or if she lost employment, to use her best endeavours to obtain a new job.

While awaiting sentencing, the defendant continued to promote her OnlyFans profile – which features photos of her in the nude along with video footage of her engaged in sexual activity – on social media. Court delays meant she wasn’t sentenced until last week, on 15 October, when Judge Taylor imposed a two-year prison sentence and suspended it for two years.

Guy was ordered to complete 225 hours of unpaid work in the community, 12 sessions of mental health treatment and 15 rehabilitation activity days with the probation service. In addition, she must pay compensation of £450 back to the victim at a rate of £50 per month.

In a public statement on Instagram in July, ahead of the original sentencing date, Guy described her crime as “a mistake and stupidity”. Adding: “If I could go back to the moment it happened I would because it honestly was just a mistake but this small mistake has now cost me so much pain and dread I can’t even explain.

“If I could give anyone advice it’ll be don’t think you’re untouchable because something will catch up one day.”
