Prince William revealed he was watching Aston Villa’s latest Champions League win as his beloved club secured a third consecutive victory in their dream start to the competition.
The Prince of Wales did not attend the fixture but revealed he was watching from home on his X account in reply to a TNT Sports tweet.
Prince William posted: “Of course I was watching,” tagging commentator Ally McCoist. During the game, the commentator joked that the prince would be among the Villa fans watching at home.
William signed off the tweet with a W, meaning the message came directly from the prince himself.
Prince William was last seen at Villa Park in their previous 1-0 win against Bayern Munich.

He also included the hashtag UTV, which stands for “Up the Villa,” a common phrase used by club fans.
The comments on his post were flooded with celebrations, congratulating the team and the prince.
One fan commented: “Yessss, your highness.”
Another fan said: “Enjoy the win, Sir!”

Prince George, often pictured at Villa Park with his father, is currently on a two-week half-term break with the rest of his royal siblings.
The Prince of Wales recently met McCoist when he honoured the former Scottish striker with an OBE for his services to football and broadcasting at Windsor Castle earlier this month.
The Prince of Wales’s lifelong team beat Italian Bologna 2-0, continuing their unbeaten run in the competition.
John McGinn opened the scoring in the second half, followed by Jhon Duran nine minutes later, continuing his fine form in the campaign.

After receiving his OBE, McCoist said: “It was great, it was special. You sometimes worry will there be things to say, will there be things to talk about, but he puts everybody at ease. I really enjoyed the couple of minutes of conversation we had.
He added: “I’m obviously well aware that the prince is an Aston Villa fan.”
Prince William was last seen at Villa Park in their previous 1-0 win against Bayern Munich, celebrating with those around him and giving thumbs up to members of the crowd.
After the game, William said: “I’ve lost my voice. I can’t quite believe it. 42 years.”
Aston Villa is the first team to win three games in the Champions League this season and has yet to concede a single goal.
