Mike Tyson has made a bold promise ahead of his controversial boxing match against Jake Paul next month.

The 58-year-old former heavyweight champion vowed to “put this little YouTuber to sleep” in a promotional video for the fight.

The bout, which was rescheduled from July due to Tyson’s health issues, has sparked debate due to the 31-year age gap between the fighters.

Critics have expressed concerns for Tyson’s well-being, particularly after he recently admitted to struggling with walking after sparring sessions.

The match is set to take place in Texas, with up to 90,000 fans expected to attend.

The fight marks a significant return to the ring for both competitors.

Tyson, who last fought professionally in 2005, participated in an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr four years ago.

Paul, on the other hand, enters the match following a victory over Mike Perry.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer has been studying Tyson’s previous fights, anticipating that the veteran will attempt to “trap me on the ropes and then get blows off to angles on each side.”

Despite the controversy, both fighters are in the final stages of their training camps, ramping up the promotional efforts with inflatable versions of themselves exchanging verbal jabs on social media.

Tyson’s training regimen has raised eyebrows among fans and pundits alike. In a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, the boxing legend claimed to be training for six hours a day, starting at 11am and finishing around 5pm.

This intense schedule shocked the talk show host, who questioned whether there was even a lunch break.

Tyson confirmed there was only a small break during his gruelling sessions.

The revelation of such a demanding routine for a 58-year-old athlete has further fuelled concerns about his fitness and readiness for the upcoming bout against the much younger Paul.

Jake Paul has revealed his strategy for the upcoming fight against Tyson. The younger boxer plans to “box on the outside and then use my footwork to be more agile and get him chasing me”.

Paul believes this approach will frustrate Tyson, allowing him to “attack him when he’s out of position”.

This tactic is based on Paul’s extensive study of Tyson’s previous fights. The YouTuber-turned-boxer has spent hours analysing footage to understand Tyson’s style and potential weaknesses.

Despite the controversy surrounding the match, both fighters appear to be taking their preparation seriously, with Paul’s strategic approach contrasting Tyson’s intense training regimen.
