Lunn’s Jewellers is investing over £5m to expand its Rolex showroom in Belfast city centre.

The location in Queen’s Arcade will grow to over triple the current size, and “significantly increase its frontage on Donegall Place”.

The development has been designed by the famous watchmakers design team, and will feature marble walls.

Lunns intends to open the newly expanded showroom in time for the return of The Open Championship to Royal Portrush in July of next year. Rolex is the official timekeeper of the major golf tournament.

Queen’s Arcade is a Victorian arcade which was designed by the architect James McKinnon and built in 1880.

It was owned at one point by famous Belfast businessman and twice Lord Mayor Otto Jaffe.

It has been managed by Lunn’s the jewellers since 2002. It received a multi-million pound investment in 2019, the same year that Rolex opened a dedicated store in the location.

The location will more than triple in size

John Lunn, managing director of Lunn’s Jewellers, said: “We are delighted to announce this exciting new project with our partners Rolex.”

“It has been under wraps for many months, and we are thrilled to be able to share the news.

“The new space will allow us to offer our clients an even better experience, fully immersed in the Rolex brand with exceptional hospitality and service.

“Clients will have the opportunity to view the Rolex range in the very best environment that is on a standard with the world’s leading shopping destinations.” Richard de Leyser, managing director at Rolex UK, said: “Lunn’s have been a loyal and committed partner to Rolex and in light of their achievements with Queen’s Arcade, we look forward to growing this relationship with the expansion into Donegall Place.”

“ As a result, the exceptional customer service that Lunn’s provides to the Rolex community in Northern Ireland will continue to grow even further.”
