Bristol’s Wake The Tiger will transform into a retro Christmas haven this winter, described as a ‘festive tradition with a twist’. ‘Retro-Mega-Mas‘ will run from Saturday, November 9 to Sunday, January 5.

Known for its immersive experiences, the Bristol ‘amazement park’ will “transport visitors through decades of Christmas memories, combining retro charm with mind bending surrealism”. Visitors will step into a world of ‘vibrant nostalgia’, organisers say, where Christmas moments from the past will be reimagined in a variety of unexpected ways.

The festive experience will include an array of sentimental installations, such as toy cars queueing to enter the attraction, a room filled with giant Rubik’s Cubes and a quirky invasion of the 1980s Mr Frosty slushy maker that was on many a child’s wish list. One of the major attractions at Retro-Mega-Mas will be the inclusion of robots created by artist Giles Walker.

These festive androids will entertain visitors with acapella performances of holiday classics and Christmas tunes to get ticket holders in the mood for Christmas. The immersive experience will also see visitors encounter a magical pile of nostalgic toys, hidden dinosaurs watching television, and even a shopping trolley balanced on the roof with teddy bears and Quality Street being “sucked up into the outerverse”.

Described as being an experience for all ages, you can book your tickets here. The Curiosity Shop will be offering a range of locally-sourced trinkets, art and crystals that could make perfect presents this festive season. Wake The Tiger is offering a 20 per cent discount for tickets purchased at least 48 hours in advance.
