Saving almost £950 on premium makeup, skincare and fragrance, Liberty’s luxury beauty advent calendar has been hailed as one of the best high end Christmas countdowns for 2024. But if you want to get your hands on it, you’ll have to be quick, as the department store’s lavish haul is expected to sell out in a matter of days.
Priced at £260, the calendar is worth a whopping £1,205, saving £945 on the contents, which consists of 28 products – 18 of which are full sized. The calendar rivalled the likes of Cult Beauty, Harrods, Space NK and John Lewis, all of which are sold out online, with Liberty expected to be the next to max out their stock.
Inside the calendar, beauty fans will find a number of big name and luxury brands from the Liberty beauty haul, including makeup from La Mer and Lisa Eldridge, Augustinus Bader skin care, home fragrance from Granado and perfume from Ex Nihilo among many more. And if that wasn’t enough, there is a golden ticket hidden inside a select few advent calendars, awarding each of the lucky winners £1000 to spend at Liberty.

The Mirror fashion and beauty writer, Bethan Shufflebotham recently unboxed the calendar, and worked out each item inside works out at less than £10 each. She said: “For me, the Liberty countdown stars brands I could have only ever dreamed of purchasing. They’re the kind of brands I’d lust over from a distance, and would resist even looking at, let alone touching in a store to avoid temptation to splurge. When I opened La Mer’s Lip Volumiser, worth £72, I was left quite literally speechless and I’m still actually a bit scared to open and use it – though I’m sure that will soon pass.
“The calendar covers all major beauty categories including skincare, makeup, hair care, home fragrance, perfume and wellness. If you apply some creative ‘girl math’, each item works out at around £9.28, which is exciting considering luxury items like Sunday Riley’s Good Genes Glycolic Acid Treatment, worth £70 are featured.”
And she’s not the only one impressed, with the calendar racking up a 4.8 star rating on the Liberty website. One said: “I received my calendar and I’m very excited about it! every single product is a fantastic choice, I highly recommend.”
Another added: “This is one of top three beauty calendars this year, much better than last year´s, I can not recommend it enough, I actually bought two!!”
However, one was disappointed that there was ‘not enough variation’, commenting: “I personally found that there were too many perfumes, two candles (a Christmas scented candle would have been a nice touch), a conditioning mask that I am keen to try but then also a tube of Elasticizer conditioner which always seems to make its way into calendars! It would have been nice to have a soap or shower gel rather than a second conditioner. I think that previous calendars have looked better and I am a bit disappointed.”
