Two men have been charged after a number of reports of vehicle tampering and thefts from vehicles in north Belfast.

Residents across the Mill Valley development in Ligoniel shared video footage online of two young men trying to open cars between 2.31am and 4.18am on Sunday morning and in some cases they successfully gained entry.

One woman reported having a handbag taken from her car.

The PSNI said two men men, aged 19 and 20, were arrested in the area.

Both men have since been charged with a number of offences including theft from a vehicle, handling stolen goods and interference with vehicles and are due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court today.
