I think it’s far to say with all the previous goodwill, it’s not been the best start for a new Labour Government or any other in recent history. It will be over 100 days at the time of reading this and it’s not exactly the ‘change’ that was anticipated or expected.

In the election the only promise they gave was ‘change’ and as I said to a voter at the time; “the only change you will see is the change left in your pocket if you vote for them”. That same voter saw me in the supermarket last week and said “you were spot on and they have taken our winter fuel allowance off us!”

I’m afraid this is only the start. Locally the new Lancaster Hospital that I got 1.2 billion for, has been ‘reviewed’ which in plain speak means stopped despite Labour claiming the opposite as their candidate parroted the line: “It’s in the fully costed manifesto” as I’m sure hundreds of Labour candidates were instructed to say all across the country to beguile the public.

This was yet another false Labour promise to get their candidate elected where I live declared by Wes Streeting when visiting Morecambe for the hospitality of a freebie fish and chips.

It is a fact that the only party ever to cut the NHS budget in power is Labour and this is no exception. It’s also a fact that the country is always left in bankruptcy after a Labour Government.

It’s now coming out that Rachel Reeves’ fictitious ‘Tory black hole’ has no providence as confirmed by her own treasury officials and that the national deficit has gone up from around 96 per cent under the Conservatives to 100 per cent in just a few months under Labour.

Let’s see if the first Labour budget that’s already been briefed as proposing to grasp at pension schemes further financially hammer the 22,000+ pensioners in my former constituency just before winter on their private pensions.

These are real people that Labour’s ‘change’ has affected and I’m sure many regret voting for them. It’s funny though I can’t find anyone in Morecambe who admits they voted Labour?

The usual old chestnut of the ECHR has arisen yet again. Is it really the problem or just a convenient excuse? Did you know it was Winston Churchill who was the architect of the ECHR?

Did you know it only became a problem when the last ‘New Labour’ Blair Government superseded British Law when they implemented the ECHR rulings over UK Courts and laws? I’m sure Mrs Blair’s human rights legal chamber that made millions from this ‘Change’ had nothing to do with this decision at that time.

LATEST OPINION FROM MEMBERSHIP:

Did you know the Conservatives in their last days reformed it? The ECHR has not posed a problem for the Germans who have bought into our Rwanda deal that this new Labour Government immediately scrapped seeing more boats crossing the Channel in the first month of this ‘change’ than the previous six under the Tories.

I’ve yet to see what Reform proposes to do about it as they are remarkably silent after their hollow tropes that split the Conservatives vote allowing Labours landslide. They are as much to blame.

I worked with Robert Jenrick to remove asylum seekers from Morecambe hotels and into more appropriate accommodation. I’m proud to say we were one of the first areas to achieve this.

Still locally the people voted in droves for Reform even though their candidate was a former Tory remainer and had nothing to do with migrants relocation. Work that one out! This allowed Labour in locally and nationally and further carnage to come. Strange times we’re living in. Hold on (to your savings) tight!… Here’s to the next four years and I’m very sad to say it’s not going to ‘change’ for the better.
