Parents are all too familiar with the sudden laundry emergencies that come with having children, from a stained school uniform to an “absolutely essential” piece of clothing. Keeping up with the constant flow of dirty clothes that need washing and ironing can be quite time-consuming.

It’s also common to run out of space while trying to find new places to dry items, as reported by The Mirror. However, an ingenious tip has been revealed by an expert for drying clothes in just five minutes without the need for a tumble dryer, heating, or even wind.

Tor Rydder has introduced his “burrito method” for swiftly drying garments at any moment.

On his YouTube channel Organizing TV, he demonstrates a technique that only requires a towel and the floor. He explains: “To do the burrito method, we place a newly washed T-shirt down on a towel. Then we start by folding the T-shirt over, like so.”

He continues by folding the top into medium-sized flaps, layering them until the T-shirt is completely wrapped in the towel.

“Once we reach the top, we start stepping down on the towel,” he adds, applying pressure with his knees onto the rolled-up towel. “The reason we do this is because the towel will absorb all of the water from the burrito. Once we unwrap it, it will be a lot drier.”

He explained that those who’d rather not kneel can opt to wring out the “burrito”. After you’ve kneeled on it or squeezed out all the moisture, unroll the towel to reveal a damp but much drier T-shirt.

He mentioned: “I do find that this method will easily reduce drying time from overnight to a couple of hours. If you’re in a hotter climate, you can probably wear it out and it’ll dry on its own.”

On its own, he noted, clothes should take just a few hours to dry using this technique. For quicker drying in cooler climates, he advises giving the garment a blast with a hair dryer for no more than five minutes.

Specifically, he suggested putting the top on a hanger and aiming the hairdryer at it for up to five minutes. Alternatively, if you don’t have a hanger, you can lay the item over a sink or chair.

This “burrito method” has left fans amazed, with one lady confirming “I used these two methods and my clothes were dry in five minutes.”

Another person stated “This man is a genius. You’re a lifesaver.”
