West Ham star Mohammed Kudus has been sent off for pushing two players in the face during his side’s Premier League clash with Tottenham on Saturday.

The winger opened the scoring in the 18th minute, only for Spurs to turn the match around following efforts from Dejan Kulusevski, Yves Bissouma and Son Heung-min – as well as an own goal from Alphonse Areola.

In the closing stages, Kudus’ temper boiled over.

The winger kicked out at Micky Van de Ven and then shoved the defender in the face. Kudus, continuing to rage, then shoved Pape Sarr in the face as well.

Referee Chris Kavanagh initially gave the 24-year-old a yellow.

However, after being ordered to look at the screen by VAR officials, Kudus was then given his marching orders instead.

With the Ghana international dismissed for violent conduct, he won’t be able to feature in the Hammers’ next three matches.

And that represents another catastrophic blow for manager Julen Lopetegui, whose side have won just two of their eight Premier League matches this season.

Fans on social media were left stunned by Kudus’ moment of madness.

“Kudus sent off. He thought it was WWE,” were the words of one user.

A second said: “West Ham really opened the scoring then forgot they were on the pitch, Kudus thought it was a UFC match.”

A third opined: “Something is wrong with Kudus. Get him a new team.”

A fourth accused Kudus of deliberately being sent off, saying: “Kudus deliberately got that red card, nothing you can tell me.

“He’s fed up with that team.”

And a fifth said: “Man, what a tough period Kudus is having; scores the only goal for his club, his club gets battered, & he gets a red card. Sigh.”

The day promised so much for West Ham when Kudus put them ahead in the 18th minute.

Yves Bissouma netted just his second goal for the club, with the midfielder putting Tottenham ahead in the 52nd minute.

Things went from bad to worse after a mix-up between Jean-Clair Tobido and Alphonse Areola resulted in an own goal from the latter.

And Son Heung-min struck in the 60th minute to complete the rout.
