The London Northern Ireland Supporters’ Club (London NISC) has created a special collector’s item to celebrate its 20th anniversary and the international career of the legendary Steven Davis in order to help a number of local charities.

It is two decades since the London NISC was officially launched and tying in with former Northern Ireland skipper Davis retiring from the game after 20 years as a professional, they wanted to mark both events in a unique way.

To that end a Steven Davis music box has been created exclusively for the London NISC.

The limited-edition memento features a record of the midfielder’s appearances for his clubs Aston Villa, Fulham, Southampton and Rangers and for his country for whom the 39-year-old won a record 140 caps.

The music box plays to the tune of the Green and White Army song ‘You are my Davis, my Steven Davis…’ and it has been endorsed by the man himself who is now a member of Michael O’Neill’s backroom staff.

London NISC is selling the music boxes to raise funds for five charities, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, which was chosen by Davis, Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, Paul’s Legacy, Caring Breaks and Street Soccer NI.

Previously the club had put together ‘Wee MON’ Michael O’Neill figures which proved popular with fans.

London NISC chairman Neal Anderson said: “Still going strong, the London NISC brings together Northern Ireland fans from across London and SE England.

“Its 150 members include many of those who met near Tower Bridge on a cold November evening in 2004, when the club’s Honorary President and then Northern Ireland manager Lawrie Sanchez also joined them for the launch festivities.

“As a club we always try to do something creative for our members’ packs. We’re also keen to help charities back home in Northern Ireland whenever we can.

“Our ‘Wee MON’ Michael O’Neill figures were a great success a few years ago, and we’re equally pleased to now offer our Davo music boxes to fellow GAWA members with all profits to charity.

“We hope to raise at least £2,500 that we’ll divide equally amongst our five good causes.”

The music boxes are £10 each plus £3.50 post and package for up to four. There is free postage for orders of five or more. You can check out the music boxes on: https://youtu.be/gF5_tG3DySc
