As the winter draws in a familiar problem for households is just around the corner – condensations. Be that windows or a bathroom, things can get wet and stay wet especially if you live in an older home that is not well ventilated.

I live in such a home and condensation is a real bane of my life. And so I was delighted to be able to try out the Kärcher WV 6 Plus N Window Vacuum, a tool for cleaning windows, mirrors and other smooth surfaces, and making them moisture-free.

Essentially it’s a very simple product. A handheld, battery-powered vacuum with a removable blade that captures moisture in an easy-to-empty container. You also get a separate spray bottle that lets you apply cleaning solution and loosen any residue dirt before using the vacuum.

One of the most best aspects of the WV 6 Plus N is its battery life. With up to 100 minutes of run time on a single charge, it offers more than enough power for large-scale cleaning tasks, making it ideal for households with many windows or larger glass surfaces. Meanwhile, the integrated LED display shows the remaining battery life in minutes.

In terms of performance, the WV 6 Plus N gets rid of moisture with minimal effort but not quite streak-free so you’ll probably need to use a dry cloth afterwards.

Although pitched at keeping your windows free of condensation, I found more use out of the WV 6 Plus N in the bathroom which can get very steamy very quick in my house.

The only little downsides are that the water tank is quite small so you’ll be emptying quite often and the price, which is higher than most but you do get a three-year warranty of the buy from the Kärcher website.

The Kärcher WV 6 Plus N is available for £119.99.

What users say

Amazon Customer: This is the first window cleaner I’ve used. Much quicker than manual cleaning and does a very good job. I have practiced several times and still find a few lines on the glass which need polishing off with newspaper. Overall a great product and a very useful purchase.

Mr I: My wife wanted one of these and I thought it would get used a bit, then sit in the cupboard unused. However, we’ve had it 9 months now and it’s actually rather good. Yes useful for Windows. But we keep it in the bathroom. – we have tiles all up the walls + floor. And we use this for after a shower to ‘hoover’ up all the condensation.

Paul Trott: I purchased this for my windows but I now only use it for my bi-fold doors as it leaves streaks in the corners. Good for large areas.
