A crowd of around 100 bikers gathered together to celebrate the life of a teenage boy killed in a crash in Somerset. 18-year-old Alfie Gray died at the scene of a collision on the A370 in Hewish, near Weston-super-Mare last month.

Bikers rode out in Weston ahead of the funeral today (Thursday, October 17), which was attended by Alfie’s family and friends.

Speaking to the BBC, one mourner said: “I just miss his smile, they bubbly energy he would give, he was always smiling no matter what. I used to describe him as a golden retriever. He’s just that cute innocent little kid.”

The procession rode past the college where Alfie studied, as well as the bike park in Weston, where bikers meet up. The 18-year-old had been on his way home from a new job in Yatton when he was involved in a collision with a car.

Avon and Somerset Police and paramedics were quickly deployed to the A370 just outside of Weston on September 10. Alfie was treated at the scene but was sadly later pronounced dead.

In the aftermath of the incident, police arrested a man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He was released under investigation.
