An update has been given on an update being performed on tragic boyband star Liam Payne who died last night. The One Direction singer was killed in a fall from the third floor of his hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The death has sparked an outpouring of emotion from fans and friends and people have been gathering outside the hotel and lighting candles. In a new update Argentinian television has said that the autopsy has already been performed.

According to the reports: “It finished at 11:30 pm last night. The body was transferred to the morgue at 8:30 pm. It started at 9pm and finished two and a half hours later. The doctors are trying to figure out what kind of substances he took and if they were the ones that caused the psychological state that led to his death.”

According to police in Buenos Aires, officers were initially responding to reports “of an aggressive man who may have been under the effects of drugs and alcohol”. Pictures showed shocked fans gathering outside the hotel after police cordoned off the area, with forensic investigators in white protective suits and blue gloves seen entering and leaving.

Alberto Crescenti a director of El Sistema de Atención Médica de Emergencias, known as SAME, the country’s emergency medical service explained what injuries Liam had received. Speaking to channel TN he said: “Within minutes a SAME team arrived and confirmed the death of this man, who we later found out was a member of a musical group,” He said the injuries were so severe they paramedics weren’t able to resuscitate him. “There was no possibility of doing anything,” said Crescenti, who said he will have to wait for the results of the autopsy to determine how the event that led to the death of the 31-year-old singer occurred.

In dialogue with LN+, journalist José ‘Tucu’ Correa gave details of how they reconstructed the singer’s last six minutes. “17.01 the hotel manager, Sebastián, calls 911. That call lasts 2 minutes 33 seconds, in which he explains and says ‘we are afraid he will do something or make an attempt on his life’. 17.04 ends that call. Within a minute a patrol car was arriving. 17.07 the patrol car radioed that the person who had fallen was dead,’ he said. He then explained that the manager of the establishment had said that he had felt a very strong impact at the back of the hotel and told what happened next: ‘17.07 the fire brigade was dispatched, they were the first to arrive and 17.12 SAME arrived.”
