A sobbing woman took to TikTok to share what it was like to meet Liam Payne shortly before his heartbreaking death.

Carola Guana met the 31-year-old singer in Argentina and posed for a picture with him. The pair chatted – and she even claims she got to hear him sing.

In a clip that’s been viewed millions of times, the fan recalled: “He smiled at me and sang. I got goosebumps… I’m one of the last people he spoke to. I’m one of the last people he sang to. I went from having the happiest day of my life to one of the saddest.”

Then in a follow-up video, she added: “Do you understand that I still have his perfume on me? I think it’s crazy. I know he was a celebrity and he didn’t even care about me, but today I had a nice moment with him. How unfair!”

In response to Carola’s video, many offered words of support. One responder wrote: “Omg I am so sorry.” Another said: “Imagine meeting your idol and then knowing that you were one of the people who heard him sing. Oh my heart, sending strength.” And a third added: “This is so devastating.”

The TikToker has since asked for some space to process everything. She urged people asking questions: “Don’t write to me, don’t call me. Have some decency.”

Liam Payne died aged 31 after falling from the third floor of a hotel. The cause of his tragic death has since been given by an Argentinian ambulance chief.

Alberto Crescenti said Liam had suffered a ‘fractured skull base’ after the fall, which left him with unsurvivable injuries. Injuries were so severe they paramedics weren’t able to resuscitate him.

Crescenti said: “There was no possibility of doing anything.” While the autopsy is underway, fans and Liam’s celebrity friends have been posting tributes online.

Harry Styles’ mother, Anne Twist, posted on Instagram to her 2.5 million followers a solemn black screen with a red broken heart emoji. She captioned the poignant image with three words – “just a boy”.

Zayn Malik’s sister, Waliyha, posted a nostalgic photo of herself with Liam on X, previously known as Twitter, voicing her disbelief and sorrow: “I can’t believe it, I honestly have no words for this sad moment… I really can’t believe it.”

X Factor stars Dermot O’Leary and Olly Murs have also posted moving words about Liam, showing just how much the One Direction star will be missed by many.
