One person has been taken to hospital after the Air Ambulance attended an incident in Co Antrim.

Emergency services attended the scene after a 999 call was received this morning.

A NIAS spokesperson said: “The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 9:43am on Wednesday October 16 following reports of an incident on the Victoria Road, Carrickfergus.

“NIAS despatched one emergency ambulance crew. The charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board was also tasked to attend.

“Following initial assessment and treatment at scene, one patient was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital by ambulance.”

The PSNI has been approached for comment.
