A medical expert believes Mike Tyson is ‘at risk’ of more stomach ulcers ahead of his controversial boxing fight with Jake Paul next month.
The 58-year-old is currently preparing for his epic comeback, four years on from his exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr.
There are, however, many who fear for Tyson as he prepares to come out of retirement to face Paul.
Earlier this year, the boxing icon was forced to postpone the showdown after suffering from a stomach ulcer. Paul then fought Mike Perry on July 20 instead, with the 27-year-old winning via knockout.

Tyson insists he’s feeling good as he prepares to go up against Paul, with the veteran eager to wind back the years.
However, a gastroenterologist named Lawrence Kosinski from Chicago has has now revealed to USA Today that Tyson could be ‘at risk’ of more ulcers if he uses nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen.
Older athletes might use these types of medication to offset any potential pain from gruelling training.
Kosinski was also asked about how Tyson’s team labelled the incident an ‘ulcer flare up’, too.
He said: “I think that’s a safe statement. But I suspect there are other contributing factors.”
Tyson’s health has been a big talking point as the showdown creeps closer.
However, both the veteran and Paul have insisted that he’s well enough to return to the ring despite the obvious risks.
Meanwhile, former boxing star BJ Flores has opened up on the clash and claimed that Tyson is still capable of delivering a knockout blow at the age of 58.

He does feel, however, that Paul will be able to reign supreme should he tire his opponent out.
“Have you ever heard the term don’t poke the bear? Don’t make him too angry,” he told Fred Talks Fighting.
“If Jake stays outside and boxes, taunts and feints and uses his legs a little bit to get Mike tired, I think he’s gonna beat him for sure.
“If he gets on the inside with that low centre of gravity that Tyson has and his explosive shots, I don’t care how old he is he can still knock you out.

“He’s not gonna have the gas tank he wants to have, no question about it, but he’s gonna be dangerous early.
“Jake’s gotta respect that, stay long, and don’t poke the bear.”
The bout will be Tyson’s first professional bout since his defeat to Kevin McBride in Las Vegas back in 2005.
That defeat ended his career and a similar result next month would likely signal a permanent end to his boxing career.

Paul has been fighting since 2020 and won 10 of his 11 fights.
A defeat to Tommy Fury remains the only time he’s failed to come out on top, with the Briton winning via split decision in February last year.
