As a self-confessed sneaker head and streetwear enthusiast, I have an extensive collection of trainers, including a colourful array of Nike Dunks and styles from Manchester brand Clint’s, Patta and Adidas. However, while I love my trainers, they’re not always the most practical for everyday tasks like dog walks or driving.

Nike trainers in particular are prone to creasing if worn too often, and aren’t ideal for quickly slipping on and off. So, I set out to find a practical yet stylish pair of winter shoes for everyday wear.

That’s when I discovered Oodie’s Black Puffer Boots. Known for their hooded blankets that have kept many warm at home, I was curious to see if Oodie’s footwear would be just as popular. The boots are one of a host of new products launched this autumn by the brand most well-known for their iconic hooded blankets, with cosy trousers, dressing gowns and new style outdoor coats joining them on virtual shelves.

Retailing at £59, these boots reminded me of North Face’s Puffer Shoes, a style I’ve been eyeing for some time. Not only were Oodie’s boots cheaper by £7, but they also had a luxurious sherpa fleece interior lining, providing a cloud-like feel without the need for thick socks.

With both style and practicality in mind, I decided to place my order, and I’m glad I did. Since receiving my Oodie Black Puffer Boots, I can honestly say I’ve worn them every single day.

They feel like a slipper, with a fleece lining and padded heel support, but they have a rubber sole design that allows you to wear them outside without worrying about them leaking or wearing down. They’re the perfect multipurpose shoe for autumn and winter.

At home, I wear them to keep my feet warm while I’m pottering about (without needing socks, I might add) – which saves on having to put the heating on. As unglamorous as it sounds, they’re fantastic for quickly putting on to take the bins out, thanks to a loop at the back which means you can pull them straight on.

I’ve also worn them for countless dog walks. Because they have a rubber sole and a waterproof outer, I can wear them in the park without worrying about damp feet.

I don’t usually leave the house when it’s pouring down (my French Bulldog shares my princess traits and refuses to go in the rain), so I can’t vouch for just how waterproof they are, but for walks when the grass is still wet, they’re great. They’ve also become a favourite for driving, so I don’t have to worry about creasing my expensive Nike collection.

Oodie’s Black Puffer Boots are a hit in my household, with both my mum and aunty, who are in their 60s, expressing their desire to own a pair. I’m hoping they’re not reading this, as I’ve already decided what their Christmas presents will be.

And it’s not just us who are enamoured with these boots; they boast an almost-perfect five-star rating on the Oodie website, marred only by a single four-star review, reports the Manchester Evening News.

One satisfied customer exclaimed: “These are very fluffy and you won’t need to wear thick socks.”

Another shared their experience: “I bought these after my feet froze at a market I sell at. I don’t even have to wear socks and they are so comfy and warm. They also didn’t soak up the water on the dewy lawn.”

A third customer wrote a glowing review: “I absolutely love these! If I could wear them everywhere I would. I have feet prone to being cold and these shoes keep my feet warmer that All birds and Sketchers! Highly recommend these! Brilliant! “.

Another person commented on the boots’ versatility: “This boot combines the soft comfort of oodie goodness inside with a sturdy, water proof outside that lets you take them outside for walks. They are a firm fit but come with a great ankle tab to aid in putting them on.”

One glowing five-star review noted: “The boots are so well made and fit perfectly. They are easy to put on and keep my feet toasty and warm. I highly recommend them.”

Oodie’s Puffer Boots can be purchased for £59 on the brand’s official website. Alternatively, those in search of a slipper boot that resembles a welly can find the Hunter Intrepid tall buckle snow boots in black, now reduced to £135 from £180, available on ASOS.
