A bagel business has taken over a former Clements coffee shop in Belfast.
Bodega Bagels is launching later this month from the prominent spot close to the Ulster University city centre campus. The Clements shop closed last October.
Husband and wife Steve and Kirsty Orr started Bodega Bagels from their home during lockdown, later opening up at Banana Block in east Belfast and Trademarket on Dublin Road.
They said they had started seeking out a city centre spot after Trademarket shut over the summer.
Mr Orr said: “I’ve always had my eye on this part of town. With the new Ulster University campus opening nearby and life coming back to the area, it felt like the perfect time to bring Bodega Bagels here.
“We’ve always strived to create an authentic New York-style bagel experience.”
He said the business is hiring six new staff, which will bring total numbers to 16, including at Banana Block.
