A woman who lost 140lbs thanks to changing her lifestyle one step at a time has explained it started with two simple habits that saw her ditch 40lbs in three months – with no calorie counting or gym trips. Liza Pasquale has become a personal trainer after discovering simple tricks that helped her lose a lot of weight fast.

Liza, who posts on TikTok as lizamarie_fit, says the journey started with two simple changes, walking 10,000 steps a day and cutting out takeaways. She says that was enough to lose between 30lbs and 40lbs in three months.

Liza said: “I want you to know that the power of walking is so strong. I want you to know that walking is the number one thing that helped me to lose the weight.” Liza said that at the start of her journey she would walk between 20minutes and an hour every night.

She cut out fast food and started making at least 80% of her meals at home.

Liza says she then used ‘habit stacking’ to add in more changes to her routine, that kept her on the weight-loss track. The next step was working out two or three times a week – on top of the walks and the better food.

When she had lost 80lbs she started working out the calories she was eating so she could make sure she was burning more calories than she took in.

Only after she lost 100lbs did she join a gym. Liza said: “I got my gym membership after I lost 100lbs. I turned all of these things into my lifestyle by not doing them all at once and doing them one step at a time.

“You can change your life in any moment, you can lose weight at home, you do not need to do anything crazy to lose the weight.”

Liza says the key to weight loss and fitness is “consistency and nutrition”.
