A specialist cooking school which runs classes for adults and children has announced that it will be closing in February 2025 after ten years of service in South Bristol. Little Kitchen Cookery School, in Totterdown, said that due to financial reasons the cookery school is no longer viable.

The cookery school started in 2014 in Brislington before moving to Oxford Street in Totterdown in 2019. The school offers a range of workshops including those suitable for adults and children together and a range of Christmas-themed events.

Business partners Madeleine and Claire have decided to close the school as the financial impact of Covid-19 still lingers on at the school. However, the owners hope to offer something new in the future.

A joint statement from Madeleine and Claire on their website said: “Little Kitchen Cookery School will be closing in February 2025. It has been an extremely difficult decision to make, especially as we only celebrated our tenth birthday in June this year. The legacy of the financial impact of Covid, the current economic climate and the increases in the costs of our overheads have sadly meant our business in Totterdown is no longer viable.

“We want to say a huge thanks to our lovely customers and amazing staff who have all enabled us to run such a range of fun, always hands-on cookery classes over the past ten years. We are still taking bookings right up until we close so hope to welcome you to one of our workshops before then.

“We still feel as passionately as ever about cooking delicious food from scratch and have always loved hosting fun hands-on cookery events. Our hope is that we will be able to offer something new in the future [so] keep following our socials for updates.”
