Bonfire Night is just around the corner, and with it some key events at venues in and around the city. From parties to ‘low noise’ events, Bristol has a packed schedule for fans of fireworks displays.

We’ve compiled a list of 15 of them that we know of, including everything you’ll need to know – from tickets, to what to expect, food and drink, and other information.

Clifton Observatory party

When: November 2 (6-11.45pm)

Where: Clifton Observatory, Clifton Down, Litfield Place, BS8 3LT

What: On the rooftop terrace of the iconic Clifton Observatory, a Bonfire Night Party will be taking place. It will feature a fire performer, DJ, hot food stand and rooftop bar.

You’ll also have the best view in Bristol, with panoramic vistas of the Suspension Bridge, Avon Gorge, and all of the fireworks going off across the city. Tickets start from £20 and this is a strictly 18+ only event. There is no official fireworks display taking place at Clifton Observatory – you can find out more and get your tickets here.

Victoria Park

When: November 5

Where: Hill Avenue, BS3 4SN

What: The popular Victoria Park community event celebrates Guy Fawkes Night. While there will be a huge bonfire and several food and drink stalls, there will be no fireworks at this event and visitors are urged not to bring any of their own fireworks (including sparklers).

Gloucestershire County Cricket Club

When: Friday, November 8

Where: Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, Seat Unique Stadium, Nevil Road, BS7 9EJ

What: The County Cricket Club is ready to ‘wow’ visitors with an evening of bright skies and dazzling colours this year as its annual fireworks display returns. Tickets cost £11 for adults, £6 for juniors (16 and under) and ages three and under go free. Find out more and book here.

Ashton Park School

When: Friday, November 8

Where: Ashton Park School, Blackmoors Lane, Bower Ashton, BS3 2JL

What: Ashton Park School is hosting a night of fireworks, fun and food from 5.30pm. There will be entertainment early on, with food and drinks stalls offering a variety of tasty treats and winter warmers. The firework display will begin at 7pm. This event has now sold out.

Downend Round Table

When: Friday, November 8

Where: King George V Playing Fields, Westerleigh Road, BS16 6AH

What: Back for another sell out year, Bristol’s ‘biggest and best charity fireworks’ will present the 2024 theme of ‘A Night at the Movies’, in the King George V Playing Fields in Downend. Some new features have been added to the event, alongside the traditional children and main fireworks launch.

Jay from Party Peeps will be leading the fun on the night, with a scheduled foam party taking place, too. Find out more and book tickets here. Tickets cost £10 for adults, £8 for children and £32 for a family ticket, with early bird specials and VIP tickets available too.

Fireworks to Music at Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park

When: November 8 – 9

Where: Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park, Pixash Lane, Keynsham, BS31 1TP

What: Avon Valley is once again teaming up with Aardvark FX, world class pyrotechnics and special effects friends, for another Fireworks to Music display. The event opens at 5pm and finishes at 9pm, with fireworks at around 7pm, depending on safety checks and weather conditions.

There will be a variety of food and drink outlets open, as well as funfair rides and stalls. Tickets sell out fast and can be purchased here.

Yate Outdoor Sports Complex

When: Friday,November 8

Where: Yate Outdoor Sports Complex, Broad Lane, Yate, BS37 7LB

What: Yate Outdoor Sports Complex is hosting an evening of fireworks, with a ‘dazzling display of colours lighting up the night sky’. The gates to the site will open from 6pm, when you’ll be able to grab a drink and something to eat, before the fireworks display at around 7.30pm. Find out more and book your tickets here.

Bishop Road School

When: Saturday, November 9

Where: Bishop Road School, Bishop Road, Bishopston, BS7 8LS

What: The Bishop Road Fireworks Extravaganza will be taking place on the school field, with gates opening from 5pm and closing at 6pm (to ensure safe entry before the fireworks begin). The event will feature not only a fireworks display, but also a tuck shop and licensed bar.

You can buy your tickets via the PTFA shop. Tickets cost £10 for adults, £5 for children under 16 and under 3s go free.

Weston-super-Mare Cricket Club

When: November 2, 2024 (5-10.30pm)

Where: Devonshire Park Ground, Devonshire Road, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 4NY

What: Dubbed the ‘best display in town’, this fireworks display is provided by Firestorm Pyro FX and the event also features a bonfire in a safe family friendly environment with plenty of space on the large outfield to enjoy the evening. There will be food and refreshments available, as well as an inside and outside bar, and mini funfair. Book your tickets here, but note that it sells out fast.

Doubletree by Hilton Cadbury House, Congresbury

When: Friday, November 1 (doors open at 5.30pm, music from 6pm and fireworks from 7.30pm)

Where: Doubletree by Hilton, Cadbury House, Frost Hill, Congresbury, BS49 5AD

What: An ‘array of colours will light up the skies over Cadbury House during this firework event. Tickets include access to fairground stalls, a BBQ and live music from Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Dennis DeMille.

Tickets cost £8 for adult members, £9 for adult non-members, £5 for child members (aged 3-16) and £6 for child non-members. Under 3s go free. Find out more here.

DeVere Tortworth Court Charity Display

When: November 1, 2024 (6-7.45pm)

Where: De Vere Tortworth Court, Wotton-under-Edge, GL12 8HH

What: A special charity fireworks display is taking place from Chase Lane at the De Vere Tortworth Court, just a short drive from Bristol. Proceeds from the event will be going to the venue’s nominated charity, Sand, and tickets cost £8 per person, with children under five going free.

Food and drink will be available to purchase and there will be limited complimentary parking onsite, subject to availability. Once the car park is full, no vehicles will be permitted onto the grounds. The firework display itself will last around seven minutes – find out more here.

Low Noise at Old Down Country Park

When: November 4 & 5 (4-9pm)

Where: Old Down Country Park, Foxholes Lane, Tockington, BS32 4PG

What: This annual ‘low noise’ event returns this year with ‘even more excitement’. In addition to a 12-minute display of low noise fireworks, the event will feature live music and children’s fairground rides to provide plenty of entertainment before the show.

A wider variety of stalls will also be available and, this year, the event offers four sessions spread across two days – so if you want to be in bed by 7pm, or want to make the most of the evening, you can pick which session best suits you. There will be two displays per night, with tickets covering one session only.

Country Park members can enjoy a 20 per cent discount on the standard ticket price by purchasing a members’ ticket. Standard ticket prices are as follows – £13 for adults, £9 for children (2-15), under 2s go free, £9 for concessions (over 60), carers go free, and £39 for a family of two adults and two children. Puxton Park

When: Saturday, November 9

Where: Puxton Park, Cowslip Lane, Hewish, Bristol, BS24 6AH

What: Puxton Park will be hosting a Sparkle & Shimmer Fireworks Show, with quieter fireworks that will ‘whoosh, shimmer and shine’ across the sky – perfect for families and anyone who enjoys a gentler display. Entry to the park starts from 5pm, with the display taking place at 7pm and the event ending at 9pm.

Food and drinks will be provided by the catering outlets and bar available throughout the event. Tickets cost £15, with under 2s going free. Grab yours here.

BTARFC Stockwood

When: Sunday, November 3 (gates open at 5.30pm, display at 7pm)

Where: BTRA Sports Ground, Stockwood Lane, BS14 8SJ

What: Stockwood’s ‘biggest firework display’ is back for another year. Display goers will be able to enjoy fireworks, drinks from a licensed bar, and BBQ food . Tickets can be bought on the gate, with cash and card accepted. Tickets cost £10 for adults, £5 for kids and £20 for a family of two adults and two children. Find out more here.

Knowle Cricket Club

When: Sunday, November 3 (gates open at 4.30pm with display at 7pm)

Where: Knowle Cricket Club, Broadwalk, Bristol, BS4 2RD

What: Knowle Cricket Club’s ever popular fireworks display returns for 2024, fireworks and a range of food and drink options available on site. This event is very popular, so organisers urge anyone interested to arrive early in order to avoid disappointment. Tickets can be purchased on the gate, with card and cash accepted.

Adult tickets cost £7, with children £4 and a family of two adults and two children priced at £20. Find out more here.
