A West Country law firm has opened a new office in Exeter to meet increased demand for its services in the city and Devon. Porter Dodson, which also has branches in Somerset and Dorset, said it had “outgrown” its former Southernhay base.

The move to Dix’s Field will allow the firm to increase its core Exeter team from eight to 20. The newly refurbished offices include open plan working areas, a conference room and several meeting rooms.

Porter Dodson is now targeting further growth, it said, and is looking to add to its team of private client, corporate and commercial solicitors in Exeter, Wellington, Taunton, Yeovil, Sherborne, Poundbury and Bridport.

David Culshaw, partner in the Corporate Commercial team at Porter Dodson’s Exeter office, said: “Our new, larger offices represent a significant investment in Exeter and our future here. They give us the space and facilities that we need to meet growing demand for our services.”

Kate James, managing partner at Porter Dodson, added: “We see Exeter as a key part of the firm’s future growth. Having recently increased to a team of over 200, the opening of our new Exeter office represents the next step in our plans to expand throughout Devon, Somerset and Dorset, delivering city-level, heavyweight expertise to clients across the South West.”
