Jurgen Klopp has been blasted by Borussia Dortmund fans after the former Liverpool boss revealed he would be taking on the role of Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull.

The German departed Anfield back in the summer following a glittering eight-and-a-half year spell on Merseyside.

Klopp previously suggested that he needed a year away from football.

But it was today confirmed that the 57-year-old would be taking on the role of Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull.

Dortmund fans have, however, now criticised Klopp.

One team the German will be working with as part of his new venture is RB Leipzig, their Bundesliga rivals.

Leipzig’s ownership model has long been a source of controversy over in Germany – and supporters have now ripped into Klopp for choosing to work with them.

“Lost all respect for Klopp,” wrote one X user. “Bull is not easy to support.”

A second said: “You made yourself a dog, Jurgen.”

A third ripped into the former Dortmund boss by saying: “From ‘normal one’ to can man. What a shame…”

And another fumed at Klopp by saying: “You’re a nobody in my book anymore.”

In addition to Leipzig, Klopp will also be responsible for the international network of other Red Bull clubs.

This includes Red Bull Salzburg, who are in Austria, and MLS side the New York Red Bulls.

Klopp will advise the clubs on coaching matters as part of the arrangement.

And the German will also give his input on playing philosophy, player transfers and other coaching matters, too.

Klopp, discussing his new role, said he was excited about the project with Red Bull.
