Prince William has been pictured for the first time since Prince Harry’s successful tour in southern Africa.

The Prince of Wales attended an event today, which was co-hosted by Bafta and the Royal African Society.

The event was intended to celebrate young creatives and showcase the importance of supporting young people in the film, games and television industries.

The father-of-three met several young people supported by both charities, including recipients of the Prince William Bursary Fund which was launched by Bafta in 2021.

The fund was launched to provide grants covering essential costs that might otherwise have prevented people from entering the industry.

Prince William, 42, will also speak with students from the National Film and Television School who have helped to programme and curate this year’s Film Africa film festival.

This is an annual event hosted by the RAS to provide a platform in the UK to help people access films from African and African heritage filmmakers.

Film Africa, which runs during Black History Month, is the largest festival for African heritage filmmakers in Europe.

This year will mark the 11th annual Film Africa festival.

Later today, the royal will join students in a conversation about the importance of showcasing the creativity of African filmmakers to global audiences.

At the end of the event, the Prince of Wales is expected to make a speech.

Prince William’s outing comes shortly after his younger brother, Prince Harry, travelled to southern Africa for a series of engagements with his charity, Sentebale.

The Duke of Sussex co-founded the charity in 2006 with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho.

Sentebale helps children and adolescents struggling to come to terms with their HIV and Aids diagnosis.

These were issues which Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, worked tirelessly to prevent and spread public awareness.

The father-of-two has since returned to the US, thereby ending the separation between him and his wife, Meghan Markle.
