A teenager has been hospitalised with what police called “serious facial injuries” after an incident which took place inside a Belfast city centre nightclub at the weekend.

Police said the 19-year-old man was hit in the face by a bottle during the incident inside the premises on Patterson’s Place.

The PSNI said the incident happened between 12.30am and 1am on Sunday morning.

The victim sustained the serious facial injuries and was then taken to hospital for treatment where he received multiple stitches.

Police said they are appealing for anyone with information surrounding the incident to come forward.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything, or who may have video footage of the altercation, to contact us,” a spokesperson said.
