A youth and an 18-year-old man are facing a slew of charges after a woman was shot in her Lamborghini SUV last month in Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police said its 11 Division criminal investigation bureau made the arrests and laid charges last week after officers responded to a shooting on Sept. 10 at about 4 a.m. in the Mississauga Rd.-North Sheridan Way area.
According to police, the victim — a 33-year-old female who had been shot in her vehicle — is still recovering from her injuries, which were considered life-threatening at the time of the shooting.
Police said, on the day of the shooting, the victim and two other women were in a black Lamborghini SUV, possibly along a ritzy stretch of Mississauga Rd., but they were unsure where or when the shooting happened.
The luxury vehicle ended up in a construction zone off South Sheridan Way, which runs parallel to the QEW.
Construction workers who were in the area at the time told the Toronto Sun the victim suffered a head wound.
Basherullah Abdulrashid, 18, of Toronto, was arrested on Oct. 2 and allegedly found to be in possession of a firearm. He was charged with being an accessory after the fact, unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm and careless storage of a firearm.
A youth, whose age and gender were not disclosed, was also arrested on Oct. 2 and allegedly found to be in possession of two loaded magazines. They were charged with attempted murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle and two counts each of aggravated assault and possession of firearms contrary to an order.

The youth’s name is prohibited from being released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Police said they believe there are additional suspects and “anticipate laying further charges.
“These suspects are advised to contact a lawyer and make arrangements to turn themselves in to any Peel Regional Police division or contact the 11 Division criminal investigation bureau,” police said in a news release.
