Tyson Fury has hinted he’ll put on weight when he tackles Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch on December 21.

The Gypsy King will be hoping to win the showdown, having crashed to defeat against the same opponent back in May.

Fury slimmed down for the bout, with the 36-year-old losing via split decision after being hit with a flurry of punches in the ninth round.

The heavyweight is set to leave no stone unturned as he looks to get revenge on his rival this Christmas.

And Fury has now hinted that he’ll put on weight in order to operate at the peak of his powers once again.

The Briton shared a photo to social media of himself prior to his defeat, accompanying his upload with a caption that read: “Was in the shape of my life but this is not the Gypsy King.”

And Fury then proceeded to hint that he’d put on weight.

The boxing star shared a picture from an older fight and said: “This is him, 19st11lb, bruiser.”

Fury lost weight prior to his bout with Usyk after cutting a bulky figure for his fight with Francis Ngannou last October.

The veteran went into that showdown expecting an easy night at the office.

Yet Ngannou, who was taking part in his first professional boxing match, was able to knock Fury down before the Gypsy King regained his composure to reign supreme.

Fury recently opened up on his defeat to Usyk in May and said that he was going to use ‘destroy mode’ to win the clash.

“I’m going to go in there with destroy mode,” Fury told Undisputed.

“Last time I went to box him, I was being cautious… Anybody can get caught as we have seen in a lot of these heavyweight fights.

“But this time I’m not going for a points decision. I’m going to knock that motherf***er out.

“For the first time in years, I’m going in there as a challenger, not a champion.

“And I believe that I’m better as a challenger, always, because I’ve got that goal of achieving something and it’s giving me a fire underneath.”

Fury is currently the poster boyt of a new boxing video game called Undisputed.

Yet the heavyweight star has revealed he intends to give up that honour for Usyk if his nemesis wins this winter.

“I’ll tell you what I’m going to do. If I don’t win this rematch, I’m going to relinquish that front cover and give it to Oleksandr,” he said.

“That’s what I’ll do with the front cover. I’ll relinquish my right to be on that front cover and I’ll give it to Oleksandr ‘The Great.’

“But if I do, what I think I’m going to do, then I’ll keep the front cover. If I don’t beat him in the rematch, then I don’t deserve to be on that front, he does.”
