Asda has issued a recall for its Chicken Dinners due to a packaging error that resulted in beef, along with potential allergens, being packed into the containers. The affected 375g packs have a best-before date of September 5, 2025 and pose a health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk, egg, or barley (gluten).

Customers who have purchased this product are advised not to consume it and return it to their nearest Asda store for a refund. For further information, customers can contact Asda Customer Relations on 0800 952 0101.

In addition, the Food Standards Agency has issued another alert today regarding Mlekpol Zloty Mazur Cheese in Slices, which is being recalled by Spoldzielnia Mlecharska ‘Mlekpol’ due to the presence of Salmonella. The affected 150g packs have a batch code of 30.8/P6 and a use-by date of November 28.

Symptoms caused by salmonella typically include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps. Customers who have bought this product are also advised not to eat it and return it to the store for a full refund.

Occasionally, an issue with a food product may deem it unfit for sale. In such cases, the product might be ‘withdrawn’ (removed from the shelves) or ‘recalled’ (customers are requested to return the product).

Foods may need to be withdrawn or recalled if they pose a risk to consumers due to missing or incorrect allergy labelling or any other food allergy risk. When there is a food allergy risk, the FSA will issue an Allergy Alert.
