Tesco is ramping up its Christmas delivery service for 2024, offering thousands of extra slots in the fortnight leading up to Christmas Day which will be available to book within weeks.

The supermarket giant has bolstered its fleet with 60 additional delivery vans, significantly increasing capacity for customers across the UK.

This expansion aims to make it easier for shoppers to secure their festive food orders during the busy holiday period. Tesco is also encouraging customers to sign up for its Delivery Saver plans, which provide early access to coveted Christmas slots and delivery savings.

Anytime Delivery Saver and Click+Collect plan subscribers will have a week’s head start, with slots opening at 6am on November 5. For other customers, slots will be available from 6am on November 12, a week earlier than last year.

Tesco’s Delivery Saver plans offer more than just early access to Christmas slots. These subscription-based services are designed to reduce the cost of regular online grocery orders. Starting from just £2.49 a month, plans run for six or 12 months and include free delivery or Click+Collect services once the subscription is paid.

Managing director of Tesco Online Tom Denyard said: “We’re looking forward to helping customers across the UK pick up their family favourites or treat themselves to something special this festive season.

“As we help customers plan ahead for their Christmas shop this year, we are excited to be providing increased capacity with thousands of extra slots available in the fortnight leading up to Christmas Day.

“And there is no better time to sign up to a convenient Delivery Saver plan and benefit from festive priority slot bookings. Delivery Saver plans not only give you early access to slots this Christmas, but they can also save you an amazing £176 a year on delivery or collection fees.”

This significant saving is based on a 12-month Anytime Delivery plan at £6.99 a month, compared to weekly deliveries at £4.50 each. Customers can also earn Clubcard points on their Delivery Saver subscription and use Clubcard vouchers to cover the plan’s cost.

Tesco offers three Delivery Saver plans to suit different customer needs. The Anytime Delivery plan, starting from £6.99 a month for a 12-month subscription, includes same-day delivery and access to priority Christmas and Easter slots.

For those seeking a more budget-friendly option, the Off Peak Delivery Plan starts at £3.99 a month for a 12-month plan, though it doesn’t include priority holiday slots.

The Click+Collect plan, priced at just £2.49 a month for six months, provides access to priority Christmas and Easter Click+Collect slots. Customers interested in signing up can visit Tesco’s website at https://www.tesco.com/deliverysaver/.
