An organiser of a war memorial group told GB News she has “never seen such hateful rage” after footage circulated online of a man destroying a Jewish war commemoration in Brighton.
Heidi Bachram, who helped create the war display and is organiser of the Palmeria group, told GB News she feels Jewish people are being “dehumanised”.
The footage, which has been widely shared on social media, shows a man in beige trousers and a black cap destroying the memorial by tossing flowers, throwing a plaque, and scattering teddy bears left as tributes.
Sussex Police have launched an investigation into the incident, which occurred just days before the one-year anniversary of the attack.

Speaking to GB News, Bachram said: “I think that Israel and people from Israel and Jews have become so dehumanised lately that people think that they can do this kind of thing.
“This makes sense to them.”

The organiser explained: “The memorial has been running for 11 months now, and it’s a group of volunteers that do it every single night.
“We go and we dedicate a service to a different victim of the massacre to humanise them, to be in the public space.
“Because quite often our streets are full of hateful people, and we wanted to be visibly grieving and not let them control the public square.
“So we have been doing that every month, every night. That memorial has been attacked 25 times now in various different forms by different people.

“At the moment, there is somebody who’s relentlessly putting anti-Semitic graffiti around the bus stops around that square.”
She added: “That’s been put there in full view of the memorial and a deliberate provocation. So we’ve been dealing with this for a long time now.
“This one is the first time that we’ve seen it caught on camera like that. And actually the ferocity of that attack is quite something. We haven’t seen that absolutely hateful rage before and it’s really upsetting.”
The incident occurred at Palmeira Square, which has become a focal point for the Jewish community.

People have laid stones, lit candles, and prayed at the memorial since its creation in November.
This has sparked outrage on social media, with users describing the act as “disgusting” and the perpetrator as an “evil old man”.
The vandalism occurred on the eve of the one-year anniversary of the October 7 attacks on Israel, which claimed around 1,200 Israeli lives, including 797 civilians and 36 children.
