Roads off two key A-roads in South Bristol will close during this week to allow for water works to be undertaken. Highbury Road in Bedminster will close from today (Monday, October 7) until Thursday, October 10, whilst Stanley Street North, also in Bedminster, will close until Wednesday, October 9.

The work is being undertaken by Bristol Water and will mean the road, which is located behind Parson Street Primary School, will be closed until later this week. The road, which is one-way, will close from the A3029 to its junction with Marksbury Road.

A diversion will be in place as the work is carried out. Starting at Marksbury Road, drivers will follow the route listed as: Marksbury Road, Somermead, Parson Street and the A3029.

Bristol Water will also be undertaking work on Stanley Street North, located just off the A38 West Street. The side street, also a one-way road heading to the A-road, will close from the junction with British Road to the A38.

A diversion route, starting on British Road, follows: British Road, Chessel Street and onto the A38. The closures will only be in operation between 8.30am and 5pm each day until Wednesday.
