Northern Ireland midfielder Corry Evans says he’s excited about resuming his career with League Two side Bradford City.

The 34-year-old, who has been a free agent since leaving Championship side Sunderland in the summer, has agreed a short-term deal until January.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to join Bradford City. It’s a massive club with a passionate fanbase, and I can’t wait to get started,” said Evans.

The 72-times capped international made 67 appearances and captained the Black Cats in his three seasons at the club.

He previously had spells at Manchester United, Hull City and Blackburn Rovers.

Bradford boss Graham Alexander said: “We’re bringing Corry in on a short-term deal to help us with his experience and quality.

“He’s another option in the midfield that can compliment the personnel we already have in there.”

Evans was left out of Michael O’Neill’s squad for this month’s Nations League matches against Belarus and Bulgaria.
