Conor McGregor celebrated making $200,000 on Alex Pereira’s UFC light-heavyweight title clash against Khalil Rountree Jr on Saturday night.
However, the Irishman then went into a bizarre rant moments later on social media.
McGregor tuned in to watch Pereira defend his light-heavyweight belt in Salt Lake City, Utah at UFC 307 – and decided to whack a $1million bet on the fight.
He posted on social media: “I AM PUTTING A MILLION U.S. DOWN ON A KO TAKING PLACE ONE WAY OR THE OTHER HERE IN THIS MAIN EVENT, @DuelbitsOdds are 1/5. A million wins back $200k. Let’s see…”

The fight did not go the distance and Pereira eventually stopped Rountree in the fourth round, much to McGregor’s glee.
The result saw him bank $200,000 – or around £150,000 – and he said on social media: “$200k baby! THE RICH GET RICHER! Called it play by play! What a fighter, Poatan! Incredible.”
However, McGregor’s joy was short-lived as he then turned on Pereira and demanded that he move up to heavyweight rather than back down to middleweight.
In a video post, Notorious ranted:: “Heavyweight – you call for heavyweight, now!
“Ah, leave it out if he says drop down to middleweight. Heavyweight! Don’t lie to yourself that was a heavy-cut.
“You’ve already done it, heavyweight!”
Having won titles at 185lb and 205lb, a move to heavyweight could see Pereira become the first three-weight champion in the UFC.

Meanwhile, McGregor has not fought in the UFC since July 2021 after breaking his leg in the cage against Dustin Poirier in the opening round.
The 36-year-old was set to make a grand return in June earlier this year after nearly three years out, being scheduled to face Michael Chandler.

However, a toe injury forced him out of the contest and a rearranged date has yet to come to light while the fighter has been spotted around various events recently.
It was just last week when McGregor was seen at the Emirates jostling with Bukayo Saka after Arsenal’s victory over Paris Saint-Germain.
He was also ringside for Anthony Joshua’s defeat to Daniel Dubois last month at Wembley, somewhat stealing the show as he jumped up and out of his seat on several occasions.
