Eminem is about to become a grandfather for the first time after revealing that his daughter Hailie Jade Scott is pregnant with her first child.

The 51-year-old rap superstar made the surprise announcement in the music video for Temporary, which features old home videos of his daughter. Towards the end of the video, Hailie Jade hands her dad a Detroit Lions football jersey with the the number 1 and the word “Grandpa” on the back. She also hands him photos of her ultrasound, and he turns to the camera with a shocked look on his face.

The 28-year-old social media influencer also confirmed the news of her pregnancy with her own Instagram post. “Mom & dad est. 2025,” Hailie Jade captioned an image of her and husband Evan McClintock embracing in their kitchen.

Hailie Jade married McClintock earlier this year in a lavish wedding surrounded by family and friends.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better, more beautiful weekend celebration. So so many happy tears were shed, laughs & smiles were had & so much love was felt,” Hailie Jade shared in an Instagram message. “Evan and I are feeling so grateful for all of the family & friends that traveled to support us and be a part of this new chapter of our lives as husband & wife 🤍.”

Eminem has remained tight-lipped about his daughter, but has referenced her in his songs a number of times throughout his career. In 2020, during an appearance on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, the 15-time Grammy winner said he was “proud” of Hailie Jade.

“No babies. Just a boyfriend. She’s doing good,” Eminem said of his daughter. “She’s made me proud for sure … She’s graduated from college, had a 3.9 (GPA).”

Temporary, which appears on his latest album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), features Em delivering a message to Hailie Jade after he dies. “Hailie Jade, I wrote you this song/To help you cope with life now that I’m gone,” he sings.

Last year, McClintock spoke about the moment he asked Em for his blessing.

“Over the holidays, I was looking for an opportunity not to make it too obvious,” McClintock explained on Hailie Jade’s Just a Little Shady podcast.

“I saw your dad go downstairs, and I’m like, ‘I gotta do it right now, or I’m not doing it today, and I’m gonna have to schedule another time,’” he continued. “So I just followed him downstairs, and, thankfully, he was just down there getting your cake and made it happen.”

In 2001, the When I’m Gone rapper called fatherhood “a real wakeup call.”

“She made me get my a– in gear — to make something of my life and try 10 quadrillion times harder than I had before,” he told British publication Q (via PEOPLE). “Everything that I am doing right now is for Hailie … the money — it’s for her college.”

Eminem shares Hailie Jade with his ex-wife Kim Scott. He also adopted Scott’s daughter, Stevie, and his niece, Alaina.

“Bein’ a dad is definitely living a double life,” he told Rolling Stone in 2004 as he reflected on fatherhood. “Even before Hailie was born, I was a firm believer in freedom of speech. … But once I hit them gates where I live, that’s when I’m Dad. Takin’ the kids to school, pickin’ ‘em up, teachin’ ‘em rules. I’m not sayin’ I’m the perfect father, but the most important thing is to be there for my kids and raise them the right way.”

In a subsequent interview with the New York Times Magazine in 2010, he credited his kids with helping him cope with the pressures of fame.

“My kids — I love them so much, and they’ve helped me through so many things,” he said.
