A legendary 90s pop star, who found fame with his ‘era-defining’ hit single The One and Only is set to play a small Bristol venue next year. Chesney Hawkes was one of the UK’s biggest pop stars of the 90s and now, three decades on, he’s ‘introducing himself to new audiences’ with the release of new single Get A Hold of Yourself, from his forthcoming album to be released in 2025.

As part of an 11-date tour titled ‘Live in 25’, which will be his first full UK tour in more than a decade, Chesney will visit Newcastle, Sheffield, Cardiff, Southampton, and others in March and April of next year. He’ll play The Fleece in Bristol on March 23 – tickets are on sale now.

Chesney says: “It’s really strange experiencing this all again – three decades later and with three decades worth of growing up. It’s taken a long time to feel confident enough to really throw myself back into a project but growing up and feeling much more comfortable and freer within myself has allowed that to happen. That’s what “Get A Hold Of Yourself” is about, getting hold of yourself and being free and not giving a f*ck what people think!

“I think people are going to be surprised that this is a Chesney track – I hope you enjoy it! I am so proud of these new songs and I cannot wait to share them with you as well as dusting off the old hits too.

“And of course like any CH shows I will give you my take on some of my favourite artists’ songs as well as lots of other surprises! Get A Hold Of Yourself, it’s going to be a great night!”

Chesney recently sold out a London show at Islington Academy with his band, which still features his brother Jodie and now his son Indiana on guitar.
