Two people have been named by police and charged with attempted murder after a serious assault at a property in Bristol last week. A man and a woman were arrested after a man was found with a stab wound at a house in Jamaica Street.

The alleged victim, a man in his 40s, was found with a stab wound on Friday morning, September 27. A police cordon was set up around the house and a criminal investigation was launched.

The man was taken to hospital where he was treated for his injuries. He was discharged earlier this week, Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed.

Mark Grinnall, of no fixed address, and Katrina Henson, of Bishopsworth, have now been charged in connection with the incident. Both were taken into custody after being charged and are due to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court later today, Thursday, October 3.

A spokesperson from Avon and Somerset Police said: “A man and a woman have been charged in connection with an incident in Bristol in which a man was seriously assaulted.

“Mark Grinnall, of no fixed address, and Katrina Henson, of Bishopsworth, have been charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

“The charge relates to an incident at a property in Jamaica Street on Friday 27 September in which a man in his 40s suffered a stab wound, for which he needed hospital treatment. He was discharged from hospital earlier this week.

“Grinnall, 51, and Henson, 47, were remanded in custody after being charged. Both are due to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday 3 October).”
