Brazilian businesswoman Viviane Monte opted for a staggering six plastic surgery procedures and it may have cost her life.

The 24-year-old went in for cosmetic surgeries at a facility in northeastern Brazil in late August.

Local media reports said Monte shelled out around $7,300 to have a breast reduction, buttock fat grafting, and liposuctions on her stomach, arms, back and neck.

Following the surgeries, she spent 20 days in intensive care before dying last Thursday — a day before her 25th birthday.

Boyfriend Renan Santiago told Brazilian news outlet G1 that Monte dreamed of having her breast size reduced but also some sculpting and fat removal on other parts of her body. The devastated Santiago said his girlfriend of six years worried she was gaining weight and had done a considerable amount of research before proceeding.

But he added it was the plastic surgeon who talked her into having the buttock fat grafting and liposuctions on her arms, back and neck, which he said he’d do free of charge.

Monte was discharged the day after the procedures but became sick on Sept. 2 and was unable to urinate. She was taken to the hospital in cardiac arrest. Her condition went downhill quickly.

She also developed a bacterial and fungal infection and had to be given two bags of blood. In addition, her breasts also opened up and she had discharge coming from both arms.

Before the surgeries, Monte was put on a diet to lose weight and put through a series of tests to confirm she was a good candidate for the procedures.

Now, her family is claiming that the surgeon was responsible for her death.

“[The doctor is guilty of malpractice] because he didn’t provide assistance … he didn’t advise her to have fewer procedures,” Santiago said, adding the surgeon was “aware about the risk and he simply didn’t warn her.

“She had no idea. She only had a dream of having the surgery. And she went on to live her dream.”

Monte’s death is now being investigated.
