Prince William roared in delight as Aston Villa won tonight’s historic match.

Aston Villa beat Bayern Munich 1-0 in the Champion’s League, playing at Villa Park in Birmingham.


The Prince of Wales, who is also President of the Football Association, was photographed celebrating after Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran scored their only goal, which also happened to be the winning goal.

Prince William, a lifelong Villa supporter, travelled to Birmingham for the historic match.

Duran scored in the 79th minute, having been brought onto the pitch nine minutes earlier as a substitute.

This continued his impressive streak of scoring as a substitute for Villa this season.

Tonight’s goal marked Duran’s sixth score of the season.

The match was historic for Villa fans as it was the first time the team played in the Champion’s League at home since 1982.
