Donald Trump’s Vice President Nominee JD Vance is “pretty evil” but “won the debate” against Kamala Harris’s candidate Tim Walz, American voters have declared.

Vance and Walz went head-to-head for the first time ahead of November’s Presidential election in a televised debate in New York.

During the debate, Vance denied amplifying false claims about Haitian immigrants stealing and eating pets in Ohio, claiming Kamala Harris has “ruined” the country’s border policies.

Playing to the strengths of the Democrat debate and one of their key policies, abortion, Walz took aim at the Republicans and hailed Harris’s campaign as “pro-women and pro-freedom to make your own choice”.

Taking to the streets of Washington D.C, GBN America asked American voters for their verdict on the Vice Presidential hopefuls, and who claimed victory in the debate.

One voter told GBNA: “JD Vance as a whole is a pretty evil person, but he definitely carried himself a lot better than I was expecting.

“At the end of the day, I would say, sadly, JD Vance did win. But I think American people need to realise that he’s not who’s running for President.

“And he was fed a lot of those lines by his people, and they did a really good job prepping him for the debate.”

When asked by reporter Steven Edginton why he believes Vance is “evil”, the voter claimed: “I don’t really see how the government can control reproductive rights of women.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

“I think that’s one of the most important things in this election and for the future of America, and it’s just controlling women and federal laws.”

Offering his thoughts on Kamala Harris’s candidate, Tim Walz, the voter admitted he was expecting a “stronger” performance and that he “lost focus” throughout the debate.

He added: “He didn’t really answer any of the questions, and he was more just trying to attack the character of Trump and JD Vance. But again, he’s not running for President and neither is JD Vance.

Asking more voters for their verdicts on the debate, one female voter backed Walz and claimed he came across as “more honest” in comparison to Vance.

She said: “I would say that Walz came across as much more honest. I noticed the discourse that Vance lied – he refused to answer important questions like what will become of children who are American citizens if their parents are deported, and he lied about the abortion ban.”

Noting how “nervous” both candidates seemed in the debate, the voter sympathised with them both and admitted that it is “understandable” due to the Harris-Trump campaign being such a “close race”.

She told GBNA: “I would be a complete basket case if I had to do a debate with anybody, given the fact that this race is so close.

“But I think Walz did a really good job of answering questions and trying to present what Kamala would like to do for this country.”

One voter remained undecided, claiming that neither Vance or Walz took victory in the debate. He said: “I don’t think either one of them won, and I think the American people are losing.

“We’ve got two parties with candidates that neither one of them are really honest and truthful, and it’s just a downright shame that money is winning.”
