East Belfast update

The vehicles involved in a road traffic collision on the A55 Upper Knockbreda Road Junction at the top of the Cregagh Road have been pushed to the side of the road. Both traffic lanes on the A55 approaching the Cregagh Road from the Forestside direction are open again. Traffic is moving but delays can still be expected in the area.

Delays expected after M1 crash


There has been a road traffic collision on the M1 Belfast-bound, approximately 1 mile from the Lisburn Applegreen Services.
Lane 2 is obstructed, but the incident is passable with care.
At 8am, delays were stretching back halfway between Sprucefield and Moira, and were also impacting traffic coming from the A1.

A two-vehicle crash citybound on the M2 at J6 Ratbeg is causing long delays. Both lanes have been blocked, with traffic directed to pass the incident using the on-slip. Queues are currently stretching back to the Dunsilly roundabout.

M1 reopens after cattle trailer overturns

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Just after 11.00am on Saturday, police received a report that a cattle trailer had overturned between junctions 11 and 12 of the M1 westbound. 
“A full closure of this section of the motorway was in place for around an hour, in order to secure the cattle. 
“No injury or damage to other vehicles was reported. 
“Traffic is now flowing as normal.”
