A woman has been praised for her ingenious method of getting TV star Jeremy Clarkson to pay off her mortgage – albeit not in the conventional sense.

Ali, a resident of the Cotswolds, left social media users astounded when she revealed that the television personality and farmer had footed her bills. The content creator, who has amassed over 871,000 views on TikTok with her Cotswold exploration tips, garnered over 90,000 views on a video where she stated: “So, Jeremy Clarkson is actually paying my mortgage this month. Here’s your sign to go for it! “.

Ali, who lives with her husband and her dog, admitted that her claim “sounds absolutely crazy to say” but insisted it was true. This surprising turn of events followed Ali’s sneak peek inside Clarkson’s new pub, The Farmer’s Dog, which she shared on TikTok, attracting nearly three million views.

She gave viewers a tour of the pub, showcasing its outdoor terrace, shop, restaurant, and pop-up coffee station. After sharing the video featuring the star of Clarkson’s Farm and his new venture, Ali found herself able to cover her bills.

Ali elaborated: “Luckily for me I had just been accepted onto the Creator Fund the day before, which was just a miracle to be honest. It did really well and my RPM was really high. Although he is not paying the full mortgage, he is paying my portion of the mortgage.”

RPM is a tool utilised on TikTok to calculate the amount a creator should earn when their video is watched for 60 seconds or longer. It’s TikTok’s way of expressing gratitude for the content creators’ contribution.

A spokesperson for TikTok stated: “The Creator Fund is not a grant or ad revenue sharing programme. Creators receive funds based on a variety of factors from their videos, and creators will know that performance on is dynamic – it changes naturally – so your funds will ebb and flow in the same way.”

Ali was thrilled with the assistance, but reportedly Clarkson remains unaware. Encouraging others to follow her lead, Ali said: “So really the point of this video is to say that you should just go for it.”

“I know the fear of perceptions is really difficult, but my only piece of advice would be that you just have to stay consistent.”

People were quick to comment on the video, with one person saying: “Absolutely love this, well done, hope you continue to grow.” “That’s brilliant, how wonderful,” another added.

Another individual commented: “This is a brilliant story! So happy for you! “.
