An unidentified man is accused of violent unprovoked attacks against two elderly men in separate incidents in the same Mississauga park.
Peel Regional Police allege the first incident happened on Sept. 19 at about 1 p.m.
A 73-year-old Mississauga man was walking near Applewood Hills Tr. and Bloor St. when a man approached him from behind and struck him with a weapon.
The assailant then fled the area.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a white male with a fair complexion, 25-35 years old, 6 feet, with a slim build. He was wearing a black baseball hat, a black T-shirt, dark grey pants and black running shoes.
On Friday, around 12:30 p.m., police said a 77-year-old man from Mississauga was walking near Applewood Hills Tr. and Bloor St. when a man approached him from behind and struck him with a weapon before fleeing the area.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect in this incident is described as a white man, 30-35 years old, 5-foot-8, with a medium build, wearing a dark-coloured T-shirt and jean shorts.
Police believe the same assailant is responsible for both attacks. The attacker and elderly men weren’t known to each other.
