James Middleton has shared his son’s middle name and its ties to their family history.
The 37-year-old, who lives in Berkshire, unveiled the middle name of his 11-month-old son, Inigo, who he shares with his wife Alizée Thevenet.
The younger brother of Princess Kate shared the heartwarming details in a new memoir titled Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life, where he doted on his family and touched on the meanings behind his son’s first name, Inigo.
James, who recently spoke on supporting his older sister through her cancer diagnosis, also unveiled his son’s middle name, which he explained was a sweet tribute to his wife’s side of the family.
He shared in the memoir: “Then there is his name. We have thought about it, of course we have, and we decide on it now.
“Inigo Gabriel Middleton. Inigo means fiery, ardent, although he is peaceful now.
“Gabriel is in memory of his grandfather, Alizee’s papa. It is a small tribute and we look forward to sharing lots of stories about his French grandad too.”
During an interview, he shared a side of him reminiscent of the Princess of Wales, with a love for affordable fashion and down-to-earth gestures.
James told Hello! that his son Inigo has been wearing hand-me-down clothes gifted by his sister Kate.
Inigo, who is now nearly one, has already been treated to several royal hand-me-downs from his cousins Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
Brands known to be loved by Kate for her children include Boden, Ralph Lauren and UK-based label Amaia, meaning Inigo will be fashionably dressed from a very young age.
He told the publication: “They are milestones, because [my sisters] remember when their child was wearing something, and how old they were – it takes them back. It’s been a lovely thing for them.
