Conor McGregor, the UFC superstar, has announced a surprising partnership with American rapper Xzibit for his new record label, Greenback Records.

The Irish fighter, known for his £200 million fortune amassed through various ventures, is now expanding his business empire into the music industry.

McGregor revealed the news in his typical flashy style, sitting in a green Rolls Royce whilst dressed head-to-toe in green.

He welcomed Xzibit to the team via Instagram, expressing excitement about launching “new, fresh music” from the “icon in the game and a legend in the industry”.

Xzibit, a fixture in the hip-hop scene since the mid-90s, is set to release his new album ‘Kingmaker’ on 11 October.

This marks his first musical release since 2012. The rapper, also known for hosting MTV’s ‘Pimp My Ride’, will perform at a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship show the day after the album launch.

McGregor’s Greenback Records, launched earlier this year, aims to be Ireland’s first major record label.

The UFC star stated in July, “I am excited to create Ireland’s first major record label, in an industry that I have had great interest in for some time.”

McGregor’s venture into the music industry aligns with his broader strategy to diversify his income streams.

The fighter, who topped Forbes’ list of highest-earning athletes in 2021, hasn’t competed in the UFC since suffering an injury that same year.

“To be able to come in and offer music artists a fair deal and properly reward them for their talent,” McGregor said, highlighting his ambition for Greenback Records.

This new partnership with Xzibit could potentially help McGregor in his quest to re-establish himself as the richest active athlete globally and ultimately rival basketball legend Michael Jordan’s billionaire status.
